B2 First Vocabulary:
Personally
‘Personally’ is a an adverb used to emphasise that you are giving your own opinion on a subject and not a general opinion. You should be able to use this in part one, three or four of the speaking exam where you are giving an opinion and you want to make clear that it is your own personal opinion.
Below are examples of how 'Personally' could be used in the B2 First (FCE) exam.
Reading and Use of English Part 3:
(4)…… speaking I think it is good idea that people are required to have a license to keep a dog, especially if it is a dog that is considered potentially dangerous.
(4) PERSONAL –
Speaking Part 4:
Examiner: “Why do you think so many people choose to smoke?”
Candidate: “Personally, I think the main reason people choose to smoke is due to the stress of work…”
