B2 First Vocabulary:
“Chill out” is a B2 level phrasal verb that candidates can use in the B2 First (FCE) exam. It is a more information way of saying relax. Candidates may be testing on this phrasal verb in the reading and use of English paper as well as the listening. They may also get an opportunity to use it in the speaking paper if asked a question about what they do in their free time.
Below are examples of how 'Chill out' could be used in the B2 First (FCE) exam.
Speaking Part 1:
Examiner: “What do you usually do in the evenings?”
Candidate: “In the evenings I usually just chill out at home and watch some television…”
Reading and Use of English Part 1:
He told Michael that if he didn’t (5)….. out and stop worrying he would probably have a heart attack!
