B2 First Vocabulary:
Take on
‘Take on’ is a phrasal verb with a couple of different meanings. First of all, it can mean to employee someone, for example “they realised they had to take on more staff”. It can also mean to accept a particular challenge or responsibility, for example “Her problem is she always takes on too much work”.
