B2 First Vocabulary:
In the long run
“In the long run” is another B2 level phrase candidates can use in their exam. It means over a period of time to a moment in the future that is far away.
Below are examples of how 'In the long run' could be used in the B2 First (FCE) exam.
Speaking Part 4:
Examiner: “How important do you think it is for children to learn about how to grow their own food?”
Candidate: “I think it is very important that they know how to grow their own food, because it teaches them about the value of food and where it comes from, and in the long run they will be able to use the skills they have learned to grow their own food when they are older.”
